Airbus helps to secure major conference
Airbus has announced that it will be provide the 54th Munich Security Conference with mission-critical and "tap-proof" communications, when it takes place at the end of this week.
According to Airbus, organisers and security staff at the event will be using its Tactilon Dabat combined Android smartphone and TETRA device, to which has been added 'special applications' designed for the event. A separate base station in the form of the company's TB3c will also be connected to the existing radio network of public services organisation Stadtwerke München, who will subsequently use "the world's smallest TETRA radio" the Airbus TH1n.
Speaking of the deployment at the event, an Airbus spokesperson said: "This reliable secure radio technology will enable mobile communication for security and staff - as well as German armed forces personnel - over the entire period of the conference. The event’s coordinators aim to ensure the security of participants in the field of politics, business and media."
Launched in 1963, the Munich Security Conference has become one of the most important events in its field, attracting delegates from across the world.
