Frequentis expands portfolio with new investment

Frequentis has acquired a 15 per cent shareholding in Spanish software specialist Nemergent Solutions.

The latter company – which has its headquarters in Bilbao – develops mission critical services, including MCPTT via LTE. According to Frequentis, Nemergent is currently involved in a number of projects across transport and public safety, contributing software for application services and end devices.

Speaking of the investment, Frequentis CEO Norbert Haslacher said: “We have already enjoyed an excellent working relationship with Nemergent Solutions. The LTE mobile communications standard brings new opportunities in safety-critical broadband communication. With our bundled software and technology competence, we will further expand our market position.”

Nemergent has partnered with Frequentis on the BroadWay project, which aims to provide boundary-free mission critical broadband to public safety workers across Europe.

The investment discussed above was made through wholly-owned subsidiary BlueCall GmbH.
