GPS innovator wins Cambridge Wireless award

The company won following a pitch to event judges outlining its work to dramatically improve the accuracy of GPS through the use of smartphone-based sensor fusion, machine learning and signal processing technology.

Other winners included 8Power, which has developed wireless monitoring and sensing products to harvest battery power from vibrations, and AlgoDynamix whose software detects anomalies in financial markets to predict future events.

Speaking exclusively to Land Mobile, MediaTek developer relations manager, and member of the judging panel, Ed Kay said: “I was impressed how the winners had taken a real world challenge and approached the solution from a practical, scalable and achievable direction. All the winners had applied their own experience and passion to solving problems with the strong prospect of developing highly successful businesses.”

He continued: “All the participants' presentations, but the winners in particular, were thoughtful and focused on the issues being addressed. This allowed the judges to instantly recognise both the problem and how important the proposed solution was."
