Icom UK to showcase IC-GM600 and IC-GM800 transceivers at Seawork

Icom UK has announced plans to showcase three new marine radios – the IC-GM600 and IC-GM800 transceivers and preview its IC-M93D, a floating handheld, at Seawork International.

The commercial marine and workboat event, taking place between 14 and 16 June at Mayflower Park in Southampton, will give those attending a chance to see Icom's forthcoming transceivers – built to the Class A DSC technical standard and satisfying Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) requirements for SOLAS regulated commercial vessels engaging in international voyage.

Both radios also feature a user interface and a 4.3-inch colour LCD with day and night mode operation. Icom's new IC-M93D handheld radio is Class D DSC compliant and features Float'n Flash technology, a bright internal red LED that automatically flashes when it comes into contact with water, and a built-in GPS.

Enhanced audio functions include voice recording and playback, 700mW loud audio, and active noise cancelling. All three radios will also be officially launched at a later date. Also on show will be Icom’s IP Advanced Radio System. This provides full hands free duplex two-way radio communication over an existing or new IP/WLAN network, even at sea on Super Yachts, cruise ships or cargo vessels.

Other solutions include its IDAS range of digital two way radios, onboard radio solutions, AIS product range and ATEX products including the forthcoming IC-F3202DEX digital ATEX radio suitable for use in hazardous environments such as on an oil rig.
