Netscout updates Wi-Fi testing tool

Netscout Systems has updated its AirCheck G2, a solution designed to help Wi-Fi professionals to address performance problems on wireless networks.

According to Netscout, the latest iteration of the technology addresses a “major challenge” in Wi-Fi testing, in the shape of how to determine actual network performance. It does this by verifying throughput, as well as checking for the presence of non-802.11 interferers on the network.

The company has also developed a ‘Test Accessory’ through which performance degradations can be identified, in relation to Wi-Fi access, the local area network or wide area connections.

Netscout VP/GM Stefan Pracht said: “Validating the throughput on a wireless network is critical to maintaining top performance. These latest improvements to AirCheck G2 deliver even higher-accuracy performance testing than predecessor versions.”

George Stefanick, wireless architect at Houston Methodist Hospital, said: “The most recent version two additions, with the new test accessory and the ability to identify interferers, has allowed my team to be more effective troubleshooters. We no longer need to carry other devices for these tasks.”
