The upgrades in question include passenger information and surveillance systems at Maryland, Manor Park, Seven Kings, Chadwell Heath, and Brentwood stations. The company will also provide driver operated cameras at Shenfield.
According to the company, it has already delivered technology to four other stations: Forest Gate, Goodmayes, Gidea Park and Harold Wood.
Speaking of the deployment, Optilan CEO, Bill Bayliss, said: “We are incredibly proud of our strong track record on rail projects, having delivered on Crossrail previously, as well as on the Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement Programme.
“We have earmarked rail as a key sector of growth as businesses and individuals alike look to reduce their car travel and gradually increase their use of more environmentally friendly modes of transport.”
Crossrail will link Reading and Heathrow with Shenfield and Abbey Wood, via new tunnels running under central London.
