Gill (pictured right) has worked for Motorola Solutions since 2001, in a variety of senior commercial, financial and business-development roles. His role at Tait was previously filled by Judd Cain, who was recently appointed as Tait’s chief financial officer.
For the last two years, Gill was Motorola Solutions’ vice president of growth and alliances for Europe and North Africa, generating a substantial increase in the company’s order book, while leading the development of next-generation public safety devices and solutions within the business and in partnership with other companies. He led the evolution of the regional business into solutions based on the Long-Term Evolution (LTE) standard for high-speed wireless. Prior to that, Gill was director of business development for the same region.
Tait Communications’ chief executive, Garry Diack, says the company was encouraged by the very high calibre of applicants for the role and is pleased to have attracted someone of Gill’s experience in the industry. “Andrew not only has the commercial acumen and market standing we were seeking but he also has spent a good deal of his recent career on the various intersecting technologies which our customers want to see brought together into solutions that make their work more effective.
“The UK and European markets in many ways are leading the way in this transition to a new era of unified critical communications (UCC) and it’s certainly true that Tait Communications’ customers in the region are pushing the business very hard to continue developing hardware and software solutions which make best use of whatever carrier systems are available at any time.
“Having Andrew’s strong commercial and market-development focus on the leadership team adds to our expertise and we welcome him to Tait,” Diack concludes.
Gill is based at Tait Communications’ UK offices in Cambridge, England.
