Dublin’s Aviva Stadium is Ireland’s first 5G connected sporting venue

5G has the potential to transform the fan experience through enhanced live streaming and opportunities to incorporate virtual and augmented reality. This 5G switch-on for Vodafone customers follows Shared Access installing a distributed antenna system (DAS) to provide 2G, 3G and 4G connectivity for all mobile network operators at the stadium. Other operators are expected to offer 5G connectivity through this shared infrastructure in the future.
