ENENSYS acquires Expway, looks forward to 5G broadcast future
ENENSYS – which designs and manufactures digital TV transmission technologies over mobile, terrestrial and satellite networks – has acquired Expway. In a statement, the latter is described as “the world’s leading provider of LTE broadcast infrastructure software and solutions.”
According to the companies, Expway’s multicast ABR and LTE broadcast technologies will work in conjunction with ENENSYS’ local ad insertion solution, thereby allowing satellite and cable network operators to increase their revenues.
Speaking of the move, a spokesperson for Expway said: “With the acquisition, we will receive a boost in engineering and sales resources to accelerate innovation, market presence and customer service growth.
“The acquisition strengthens Expway’s ability to deploy its market leading LTE broadcast technology, while both companies will join efforts to aggressively build and market the first 5G broadcast solutions.”
Régis Le Roux, president and CEO of the ENENSYS Technologies Group said: “The performance and quality of the Expway products is recognized worldwide, as evidenced by its highly international portfolio made up almost exclusively of large accounts.
“With [the acquisition] we are taking an important step forward in our ambition to offer a complete coverage of broadcast optimisation solutions, regardless of the underlining technology and network.”
