According to Frequentis, the solution is made up of two components: the Frequentis’ multimedia collaboration and communication platform LifeX, extended by the messenger, incident and resource management module, OnSite. In Lower Saxony, the existing Frequentis Integrated Command and Control Solution (ICCS 3020), in operation for more than ten years, will be replaced by the next generation of Frequentis communication systems.
As part of the rollout in Germany’s second largest state, police and local authorities, represented by ZPD, have commissioned Frequentis to implement the 3020 LifeX system across eight control centres, one alternate control centre and one test system across three phases to enable interaction in case of overload or failure.
Marc Stothfang, project lead of operations control system for the Lower Saxony authorities, said: “Over the course of modernising the police and cooperative control centres in Lower Saxony, one of the main requirements, among other things, was updating the communication system, as an essential technical component.
“Having opted for the Frequentis successor system, 3020 LifeX, Lower Saxony has a reliable communication system with almost identical and extensive functional features at its disposal at all times, even during parallel operation, which provides the control centres with maximum technical performance, especially in view of the current security situation.”

Meanwhile, as part of a continent-wide rollout in AustralAsia, Frequentis will supply both hardware and software for 27 airport control centre sites as well as a future central control hub, operated out of two data centres. The solution will be assembled and finalised at the Frequentis Australasia premises in Brisbane and Melbourne.
Speaking of the roll-out, managing director of Frequentis Australasia, Martin Rampl, said: “Emergency services organisations must have the most effective tools available to process critical data and information to manage incidents.
“This programme will enable Airservices Australia to enhance and optimise emergency communication and incident resolution, as well as reducing control room operators’ workload. As a long-term partner of Airservices Australia, we are pleased to be working with its Airport Rescue & Fire Fighting Service (ARFFS) on this very important project to upgrade its airport fire control centres with the latest technology.”
The latest rollouts follow successful Frequentis deployments of the LifeX solution in the UK, including London Metropolitan Police, as well as Fire & Rescue Authorities and Ambulance services, in Austria and in Qatar.
