Hyperoptic hires new MD

Former Openreach fibre build director Lisa Neale will be responsible for delivering the company’s network rollout ambitions. Neale will report directly to chief executive Dana Tobak and said she was “looking forward to collaborating with the senior team on new innovative tools and techniques that will help fast track rollout schedules”.

Hyperoptic launched in 2011 as one of the “fastest ultrafast broadband service providers” with full-fibre optic technology and now has a presence across 57 UK towns and cities.

Earlier this week, the company also announced the trial of new smart home dual-bandwith line technology at Cardiff Council’s flagship Aspen Grove housing scheme being developed by Wates Residential (pictured below). Working alongside smart home technology provider Sero, Hyperoptic will supply the properties with a second low-bandwidth line, which will be dedicated to support Sero’s smart equipment and a standard residential fibre solution, which will allow residents to subscribe to a Hyperoptic service without interference.
