The BD series initially consists of four models, BD30X, BD35X, BD50X and BD55X, which use two-slot TDMA technology, provide output power from 2 to 5 watt and capacity up to 256 channels, and feature a compact and lightweight design. They are capable of working in both analogue and digital mode.
The BD Series is not currently available in the UK and Europe as it has yet to be not certified for these markets.
Hytera has enhanced its PD3/4/5 series by adopting new hardware and releasing updated software to enable more data features, such as radio registration service, encryption and roaming. The PD5 series can now use Hytera XPT Digital Trunking, which used to be only available for higher tier terminals in the PD6/7 series.
"The upgraded PD3/4/5 series have a substantial enhancement in terms of functionality, which will be a big move, opening the doorway to activate more practical data services and applications for our customers," said G. S. Kok, senior vice president and terminal chief of Hytera.
According to Dylan Liu, Hytera’s international marketing director, Hytera is in the process of certifying a ia-level Zone 0 applicable intrinsically safe portable radio and this is due to be released soon.
Hytera claims to have the largest share of the DMR Tier III market (65 per cent) and to have the second largest share of the DMR terminal market.
