Manchester City chooses Hytera

Pennine is providing 32 Hytera X1p two-way radios to the medical team at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, home of Manchester City.

The handsets have been deployed to separate staff groups working across both the stadium itself, and the training academy adjacent to the main site. They feature a group talk function, AES encryption algorithm and IP67 rating.

Speaking of the devices, Manchester City soft tissue therapist Mark Sertori said: “If there’s an incident either inside or outside, the medical team has got to be contactable. It’s imperative we have a clear communication line for all the medical team.

“I’ve gone all the way around the stadium and training complex and the coverage is fantastic, with no blackspots. We can have 55,000 fans screaming and cheering on match day, so the radio communication has to be reliably clear. It is.

Pennine is based in Bury, in Greater Manchester.
