In addition, the company is also introducing its WAVE radio, the TLK 100 handset, which was launched in the US in August last year. The TLK 100 is purpose-built for the WAVE platform and has a rugged form factor. It allows PTT communications across Europe over 3G, 4G, and Wi-Fi; and also has integrated GPS to enable easier workforce management.
The launch of the cloud-based WAVE service includes the new WAVE Mobile application and the WAVE Dispatch Application.
“We see a growing demand from businesses that need to connect their teams via easy-to-use push-to-talk services in the field,” said Viv Francis, vice president, channel sales EMEA at Motorola Solutions. “They need future-leading technologies for group-based broadband communications, plus purpose-built devices that function at the push of a single button to improve employee efficiency.”
Motorola Solutions is selling the WAVE Radio TLK 100 to its channel partners and these will decide how to offer WAVE to their customers, with possible business models including a full subscription, mixed hardware purchase/service subscription, or even rental.
