According to the company, the product is designed to be carried through extended shifts, and is deliberately straight-forward to use “so users focus less on the radio and more on the guest.” The housing is engineered to military MIL-810 standards to withstand temperature, drops and vibration, while also possessing an IP54 rating.
The radio includes a “large, centrally located” push-to-talk button, in-line PTT on the headset and voice-assisted operations.
Speaking of the technology, Motorola vice president channel sales and operations, Vivienne Francis, said: “The CLP has been very successfully deployed at retail stores worldwide since 2012. With the CLPe, we build on this success, having made the solution even better with a lightweight design and an enhanced feature set.”
