HMF will work alongside Spanish rail communications specialist (SICE) to install the secured communications system across stations, tunnels, workshops and garages with the aim of “guaranteeing operational and emergency communications under the highest encryption and cybersecurity standards”.
The project for Line 7 of the Santiago Metro is comprised of an extension of the rail network by 26km across 19 stations covering the communes of Renca, Cerro Navia, Quinta Normal, Santiago, Providencia, Las Condes and Vitacura
As part of the Line 7 implementation, HMF will deploy an RBA under 3GPP mission critical standards that covers the needs of data transfer from CCTV, SAP and SIP trains and data from the maintenance, repair & operations without degradation in the tunnels, workshops, and depots towards the equipment on the ground connected to the Mission Critical Network.
This project will be a first of its kind in Latin America and will have a state-of-the-art LTE 3GPP topology, developed and manufactured by Hytera. Within the scope of the project, HMF will deploy TETRA on-board equipment, LTE on-board equipment, TETRA handheld terminals, intelligent dispatch consoles, and a communication recording system; as well as provide ten years of maintenance and service level 3 support.
The railway layout will be fully linked to the other metro lines in the Chilean capital under the interoperability setup that Hytera has employed across the Metro de Santiago under the TETRA standard. Adding to the existing six lines will guarantee TETRA communications in more than 136 Metro stations across Santiago according to Hytera.
