Nokia's command and control innovation
Nokia has launched Advanced Command Centre, a control room solution designed to facilitate public safety organisations’ increasing use of broadband data.
According to the company, the product is designed to enable next generation 911/‘rich media’ call-taking from members of the public. It will also help public safety organisations incorporate IoT data to increase situational awareness.
Speaking ahead of the launch, head of global services portfolio sales at Nokia Asad Rizvi, said: "Today's increasingly complex public safety situations call for new approaches that are built on integration and automation, and are constantly evolving.
“Nokia's Advanced Command Center optimises resource allocation and allows for efficient multi-agency alignment, collaboration and joint coordination for police, health and fire services."
Rizvi continued: “[Using the solution], command and control rooms can be networked in such a way that emergency call workloads are automatically balanced between virtual emergency response centres. All centres are provided with a unified view of the situation and can access the same data to improve cooperation and efficiency on a local or regional level.”
In designing the product, Nokia has taken what it calls a “unique multi-vendor approach,” allowing the integration of disparate solutions into emergency services’ communications ecosystems.
