Remote NG eCall interoperability tests announced

ETSI is launching a virtual Next Generation eCall plugtests event, taking place in the Autumn.

According to the organisation, the event will focus specifically on interoperability, based on test descriptions defined in ETSI TS 103 683. It will be hosted remotely by interoperability test site SINTESIO, alongside Iskratel as technical partner.

The plugtests will run with the support of the European Commission, ETSI TC MSG, the sAFE 112 project and the European Emergency Number Association (EENA).

Speaking of the event, a spokesperson for ETSI said: “Interoperability and NG eCall service harmonisation are critical challenges to be taken into account for the successful deployment and operation of the NG eCall service.

“[This] event will enable vendors to run interoperability test sessions using predefined test descriptions. In vehicle system and public safety answering point vendors are [also] invited to join.”

The Next Generation eCall Plugtests will take place from 26th October to 6th November this year.
