It will be the first time the solution has been deployed outside mainland UK, where just under half of a potential forces are currently using the technology. The platform is designed to enable officers to carry out business-as-usual tasks such as taking witness statements while away from the station, without the need for a notebook.
Speaking of the roll-out, States of Jersey Police deputy chief officer Julian Blazeby said: “Our goal was to get officers to spend more time out in the community, and less time with paperwork. With Motorola Solutions we believe we have found a partner with proven experience in public safety mobile solutions, and high flexibility in solving for our specific needs.”
