According to the company, the aim is to reduce risks associated with driver behaviour, with particular areas of interest including braking, cornering, lane handling and the use of speed. It is also hoping that the technology will make its fleet more efficient.
Speaking of the deployment, Securitas mobile operations manager Yvonne Hinckley said: "As a security provider, our dedication to safety extends beyond protecting clients through our specialist services [for instance, mobile security]. By partnering with GreenRoad, we are taking measurable steps to protect our employees and other road users.”
Regional lead at GreenRoad John Gorbutt said: "If a company the size of Securitas UK can reduce incident rates and risky manoeuvres among its employee base, that can have a significant ripple effect on the safety of UK roads."
The technology will be fully implemented across the Securitas fleet by October 2017.
