Celtic FC now benefiting from Hytera XPT multisite system

Scottish Premier League Champions, Celtic FC, has installed the first Hytera XPT multisite solution (XPT standing for Extended Pseudo Trunk) – a scalable, single-site digital trunking system, which is being used across the business teams at both Celtic Park and the Lennoxtown Academy Training Ground.

More than 150 PD6 series Hytera DMR handheld radios are now in use across both sites, which are linked over IP to provide enhanced security and health and safety. This has upgraded the site from an existing system that was mainly made up of analogue technologies. The system was implemented by Hytera re-seller Vital Communications.

“We are delighted to be able to partner with a club of the stature of Celtic,” said Andrew Yuan, director of sales for Hytera. “Our experience in handling major stadium communications systems means that, through our local dealers, we have huge confidence we’ll improve security and clarity of transmission. As champions of Scotland, and one of the world’s greatest football clubs, Celtic is a highly sought-after partner, and we’re proud to be able to match their ambitions with world-class digital mobile radio solutions.”

“We are delighted to sign this new partnership with Hytera, one of the leading organisations in this area,” said Adrian Filby, Celtic commercial director. “On a match day in particular at Celtic Park, we have hundreds of staff who need to communicate quickly and effectively across a range of areas including catering, stewarding, events and safety. This new deal will provide huge improvements in our stadium communications system across all these areas.”
