The platform called Paragon can be used for on-demand 5G network slicing, deploying mission-critical applications on Singtel MEC (multi-access edge compute), and accessing partner applications according to the telecoms giant.
Among the potential use-cases for Paragon is the deployment of solutions for augmented reality and logistics management. To highlight this usage, the company has held a demonstration of deploying a fleet management application powered by event streaming platform Solace.
Bill Chang, chief executive officer at Singtel, said: “Many enterprises are undergoing rapid digitalisation while exploring and developing tailored 5G solutions for deployment in their industries.
“We understand the challenges and complexities that they face in managing the various networks, edge cloud applications and services with the required cyber security, resiliency, and demanding service assurances required, cost-effectively. Paragon was conceived, developed, and delivered to help enterprises meet these needs through a single platform.”
According to the company, successful trials have already been conducted on Paragon and it is reportedly confident that its 5G network will unlock new use-cases combined with edge computing including things like enabling autonomous robotics.
