Three expands collaboration with Amdocs

Leading mobile provider Three has announced a multi-year partnership with Amdocs which will see the US firm supply it with a new, cloud-based omnichannel digital business system.

Amdocs, a St Louis-based communications software and services specialist, will work with the CK Hutchison Holdings-owned company across the business-to-business (B2B) and consumer sectors.

Under a managed services agreement, Amdocs will support digital transformation at Three Ireland and Three UK with its cloud-based system. Using the digital business system, Three UK will launch eSIM-enabled devices and introduce operational efficiencies for 5G.

David Hennessy, chief technology officer of Three UK and Ireland, said: "Three UK’s customers are already using the UK’s fastest 5G network and we need an IT system that allows our business to exceed the expectations of our customers.

"Working with Amdocs, our staff and customers will benefit from an end-to-end omnichannel digital business system that will enable us to offer competitive, disruptive offers to deliver the experience our customers want and need."

The move is the latest expansion into the telecoms sector for Amdocs, having acquired Openet Telecom, a provider of 5G charging, policy and cloud technologies, in 2020.
