DCRS supplied a solution consisting of a Hytera MD785G digital mobile radio in each tractor, which features in-built GPS functionality. These are MIL-STD-810 C/D/E/F/G and IP54 compliant and have large keys, which allow easy use when wearing globes. They also have a lone worker function. The mobile radios are supported by a permanently installed radio infrastructure comprising of a Hytera RD985 repeater and desk-based SmartDispatch solution. The RD985 Repeater offers up to 50W power and has 40-bit encryption as standard, while SmartDispatch has no recurring monthly fee for data.
The system allows the Yelspa team to rapidly respond to emergencies, dispatch employees with a single click, has lowered their operating costs and increased productivity. It also allows them to assign jobs directly from the computer and monitor performance.
