Track24 launches app to locate and notify employees during emergencies
Track24 has launched SearchLight, a smartphone application and notification system, designed for businesses, multinationals and government organisations, to protect and account for staff during an emergency or disruption.
The company states that the system has been developed “with privacy at the heart of its design”, and that it allows businesses to accurately locate members of staff during an emergency and inform them of any potential danger.
The SearchLight web application can used to draw a zone around an incident’s location ona map to identify any nearby members of staff and automatically warn them about the situation. The app is designed to only reveal an employee’s location if they are inside or near “a geography of concern”.
The app can also be used to provide employees with ongoing assistance to help guide them to safety, via push notifications, SMS, email, or one-to-one chat support. Track24 adds that the app can also be used to create dedicated messaging groups to allow staff to communicate with each individual during an emergency.
“We know that emergencies can happen at any time, without warning, as demonstrated by the Manchester Arena and London Bridge attacks last year,” said Raymond Kenney, Track24’s managing director. “There is the need for a clear and universally recognised means of being able to locate people in the case of an emergency, and provide ongoing communication to ensure they remove themselves from any danger.
