By deploying the Motorobro system, the Italian plastic and latex binder manufacturing company claimed that it had “seamlessly” revamped its plants' emergency warning system to integrate the manufacture of the rigid resin PMMA.
Trinseo had previously announced it would add PMMA and MMA products and technologies within seven manufacturing plants and three R&D locations in Europe and North America. These can now centrally send out messages to communications channels instantaneously.
Following a testing phase which included a full emergency response simulation, Trinseo has deployed the system which comprises an SLR 5500 repeater, DM2600 mobile two-way radios, SL2600 ATEX portable radios and five vehicular radios which deliver clear communications for the safety teams and all those working in the manufacturing environment. The new warning system enables the digital and analogue technology to operate in tandem and integrates the five elements Trinseo uses for communication: the radios, the loudspeakers, the VoIP fixed phones, the DECT portable phones and the TRBOnet control room solution.
Safety process specialist at Trinseo, Andrea Zugni, said: “With this new Mototbro and TRBOnet solution, we’ve seamlessly revamped our emergency warning system to the latest tech. This is a ground-breaking system, intelligently installed by our able partner ERT.
“We can now centrally send out messages to all our different communications channels instantaneously. And the Mototbro technology and radios are delivering as expected. However, it’s the opportunities brought by the introduction of a digital channel and the associated flexibility, scalability and security for future developments that I’m most excited about; we’ll continue to tailor our system for maximum efficiency!”
